FAFSA - Free Application for Federal Student Aid Every senior and their parent(s) should fill out FAFSA no matter their income! Some scholarships for merit (not financial need) will often have a requirement that the student/parent filled out FAFSA - NOT that they qualified for financial aid due to need. It can be a costly mistake! Each year you are in college you need to do FAFSA! FAFSA becomes active for high school seniors January 1st of their senior year. Scholarship Search Engines
These are my top favorites! You will need to make an account with each of these search engines. My College Dollars
Great site! MTV and CollegeBoard sponsor this site. Wonderful information about financial aid, due dates for FAFSA by college or state, and the scholarships are wonderful! Cappex
This site is one of my favorites for Promos! Examples of promos: "I don't want to pay for college" or "GPA doesn't matter" or "I don't do essays" or even "3-Sentense Essay" - fast and easy describes these scholarships. Chegg
If you are looking for Zinch.com - Chegg bought them out - and what a great deal - find out about text book rentals and so much more at Chegg Fastweb
This is the "grandfather" of all search engines! They will email you with scholarships that match your profile and email you to remind you of deadlines. If there is one complaint about Fastweb it is that you get so many emails! Hint: make a new email account just for scholarships and college information - eventually it could/should become your professional email address. Big Future - CollegeBoard
